DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Merrick has black vallaslin over his left eye in a distinctive, vinelike shape. He also has a few scars--one under his right eye and, most noticeably, one that runs vertically down his lips.

Merrick has emerged as a full-fledged assassin and works independently on the Inquisition's behalf. When he's not off killing people he spends time in the tavern, drinking heavily, or outside with his pipe and his wood carvings. He rarely sets foot in the castle because ew, being inside.
Merrick is That Dalish, the one with the savage temper who once attacked a Templar. People generally find him intimidating and give him a wide berth, and word that he's an assassin has probably not helped with this. He's known to be grouchy, standoffish, blunt to the point of being rude, and mentally unstable.
Merrick is quick to anger and often rather callous in the way he speaks, which leaves threads wide open for conflict or negative CR. As for positive, if you're a person who a.) likes to talk shit about other people, b.) isn't easily offended or c.) is into mellowing out in front of a campfire with drinks and elfroot, you'll get along with him just fine.
